I'm passionate and interested about the subjects I teach and tutor, and I believe strongly in showing my students how interesting those subjects can be and how enjoyable it is to learn. I've been tutoring my friends, peers, and neighbors since I was in high school all the way until I graduated from ASU this year with a bachelor in Conservation Biology. I'm most comfortable teaching biology, chemistry, physics, math, and history, and I believe that the purpose of a tutor is not to do the student's homework, but to teach them to do it themselves.

I am a senior at Arizona State University studying Political Science, with a focus on international relations. I am also a participant in the federally-sponsored Chinese Language Flagship program that supports students in attaining full business proficiency in Mandarin. I have previously studied abroad in Shanghai, China, during which I worked as a volunteer English teacher for elementary school children. While I currently tutor a broad range of subjects, I am most passionate about teaching Mandarin, political science, government, and world history. As a second-language learner myself, I understand the struggles one may encounter when trying to memorize vocabulary or understand new grammar structures. It brings me much joy to share my strategies for overcoming these struggles with students & watch as their grasp on the language improves! In regards to the other subjects, understanding politics & history is essential to helping students make better sense of the world they live in. I will help students better comprehend the historical context for certain modern developments, different political frameworks, and important terminology used in the field.

I am working on a degree in medicinal Biochemistry from Arizona State University. In the past, I've tutored the following major courses: Biology 1 and 2, General Chemistry 1 and 2, Organic Chemistry 1 and 2, Physics 1 and 2, as well as Calculus 1 and 2. I also enjoy tutoring elementary, junior high school, and high school level students in ALL subject matter. I have a deep understanding of these core subjects and promote learning from the fundamentals. My goal as a tutor is to not only teach difficult subject matter, but also to promote students to think critically and problem solve so that they develop the skills to be independent studiers.

I graduated with honors (Magna Cum Laude) from Arizona State University in 3 years with a bachelor's degree in Computer Science. Currently, I am working as a 3rd grade math teacher at Hope Chinese School, and spending my free time learning more about Machine Learning. Although my major was in STEM, I am still passionate about music and the arts. I hope to provide you with the help you need to succeed.

I graduated from the high school of BASIS Chandler and I currently major in Computer Science at Arizona State University. While I did do some volunteer tutoring for Algebra I and II in high school, my more formal work experiences include teaching Math and English at Kumon to mostly primary and middle school kids and working as a Undergraduate TA at ASU to assist college freshmen with EEE 120 (Digital Circuit Design). While I can teach a broad range of subjects, my favorite ones to teach are programming and mathematics. What draws me towards instructing others is that having gone through education myself, I developed an ability to efficiently analyze and break down problems, and this is something that I'd like to pass down! As a bonus, each new piece of knowledge learned expands your world a little!

I am a senior at Arizona State University and have plans to continue on to medical school after receiving my undergraduate degree. I love tutoring all of the courses I have listed, especially the sciences, as that is what I study at ASU. Over the last year I have been tutoring students in science subjects at ASU's tutoring center. This experience has given me a sense of which topics are particularly troubling to students, and how to best explain these topics in a way that is understandable. When I tutor, I try to make the subject as easy and approachable as possible. Sometimes science classes can seem more difficult than they actually are, and I try to help others realize this. I am also well-versed in the structure and content of the MCAT. It is not an easy test, but I'm confident that I can help premeds reach their goals by helping with both content knowledge and test-taking strategies.

I am a biomedical engineering graduate from Arizona State University and a first year medical student. As a student myself, I often times find myself leaning on tutors more than the teachers. For that same reason, I would like to help students feel comfortable working with me in the long-term for subjects like algebra, trigonometry, and geometry. But also, for short-term goals such as ACT test prep. I've taken the exam and know exactly how to help students perform well. I tutor students in a way that is fun, helpful, but also logical. Students learn best when subjects are broken down into simple, easy-to-understand steps. That's my teaching style, taking concepts and moving forward one step at a time.

I recently graduated from the University of Pittsburgh summa cum laude with a BS in Psychology. I have been tutoring with Varsity Tutors for over 5 years with over a hundred students. I'm excited to work with your student!
