I'm Jamie, a 25-year-old high school teacher from Philadelphia. For as long as I can remember, I've loved helping people write standout application essays that reflect their personalities and passions. I'm a kind, incisive, and relatable teacher and I'd love to work with you to meet and exceed your goals!

Teaching has been a lifelong passion of mine. What drives me is sharing knowledge while genuinely connecting with others. I discovered my love for tutoring in high school and have been dedicated to it ever since. At Stanford University, I earned a BS in Human Biology and Chemistry while continuing to tutor throughout, advancing to Lead Tutor. After graduation, I spent a year as a Teaching Associate, designing and delivering course content which significantly broadening my pedagogical approach. What sets me apart is my versatility. Having served as both tutor and instructor, I can adapt my teaching style to each student's unique needs, whether that be building up foundational skills or pursuing advanced mastery. I'm now pursuing graduate studies at The Johns Hopkins School of Medicine, staying engaged with cutting-edge science while maintaining my commitment to education. I look forward to helping you achieve your academic goals!
I'm Leah! I have a strong background in science, and would love to help you develop a greater understanding of these subjects. I graduated from Johns Hopkins University in 2019 with a degree in molecular and cellular biology. In 2022, I graduated from physician assistant school and am now a licensed PA-C.
I'm a current student at Johns Hopkins University pursuing a bachelor's in both Neuroscience and Molecular & Cellular Biology. My favorite subjects to tutor are biology, chemistry, psychology, art history, and environmental science on both a high school and Advanced Placement level. Alongside those subjects, I am comfortable teaching middle school and lower level high school math and science, and I offer test preparation for both the SAT and ACT. Outside of academics, I like to train for memory sports, and my current goal is to set a Guinness World Record for memorizing the most decimal places of the irrational number phi. In my previous tutoring experience, I have not only helped teach the subject matter at hand, but I have also guided students on how to improve their study habits in general.
Hello! My name is Gabe, and I am a master's student at Johns Hopkins University studying Environmental Epidemiology and Biostatistics. I graduated from NYU in 2024 and studied environmental sciences and public health. I learned to have a passion for statistics since I found myself using it in so many of my courses. Statistics isn't for everyone, but I hope to help students expand their knowledge or gain confidence in using it for a class. While at NYU, I worked as a data analyst for a clinical trial and as a biostatistics intern. I am skilled in R studio for statistical and epidemiological analysis. My goal is to help students perform their best by becoming comfortable with the concepts.
I am a passionate problem-solver but patient and flexible with my teaching pace. In terms of tutoring style, I like to prepare a comprehensive review of the topics students are struggling with. I also like to bring in outside resources and review questions that mirror the material so students have more practice to fully master the material.
I am a public school reading teacher in the elementary grades. I have a passion for educating young people and guiding them to academic success, either in or outside of the classroom. I have experience as a classroom teacher and a private tutor, in subjects that range from Reading and Writing to History and French. In my opinion, the path to obtaining a good education is formed by hard work, diligence, persistence, and an open mind. I work on a daily basis to instill these qualities in my students and tutees. I also believe that forming meaningful relationships with my students creates an environment in which learning is the goal. In my spare time, I enjoy running, golf, reading, cooking, and spending time with family and friends.
I recently graduated from Johns Hopkins University with a Bachelor's of Science in Neuroscience. As a prospective medical student, I have and will continue to spend a lot of time in the classroom, understanding what makes teaching and learning most effective. I work to integrate my studies into my tutoring, focusing on giving meaningful examples to help drive complex topics home and provide plenty of opportunities for repetition to increase retention. I have a few years of formal tutoring experience, primarily in middle school and high school math, though my focus and interests have shifted since then. Now, my expertise lies in neuroscience, MCAT prep, and all the relevant class material included in those specialties (biology, chemistry, organic chemistry, biochemistry, physics, etc). I've spent most of my education informally tutoring those around me. Whether it was a teacher's request to help explain a concept to my peers or taking the initiative to help out my peers with challenging subjects, I've had plenty of practice working with a variety of subjects and students. I hope to help students not only learn material but understand how they best learn and study, raising their confidence and comfortability inside and outside of the classroom.
I'm a third year osteopathic medical student at the Heritage College of Osteopathic Medicine. I have a BS in Cognitive Neuroscience from the Johns Hopkins University and a MS in Biomedical Sciences from the Eastern Virginia Medical School. I have experience working with students from elementary school through college. I received a 33 composite score on my ACT with a 36 in Science, 35 in Reading, 28 in Math, and a 33 in English. My MCAT score was a 510 with my Critical Analysis and Reasoning Skills section being in the 99th percentile.
I am a freshman undergraduate at Johns Hopkins University. I am majoring in Molecular and Cellular Biology and minoring in Spanish on the pre-med track! I have been a tutor for all 4 years of high school. I have helped students with mathematics, ranging from middle school to college level courses, as well as intermediate Spanish. I have also worked at Kumon for the past 3 years and have experiences in teaching English, grammar, and reading for all high-school level courses. While I am confident in my abilities to help students in science (biology and chemistry!), I am most passionate about helping students in mathematics, whether that is with the SAT, ACT, AP, and excel at reviewing college admission essays. I am a firm believer in creating an organized and adaptive tutoring program, allowing students to practice with questions that would challenge them in beneficial ways.
I earned dual undergraduate degrees from the University of Michigan and Shanghai Jiao Tong University in biomedical and mechanical engineering, with a minor in math. I recently graduated with a master's degree in biomedical engineering from Johns Hopkins University. I tutor subjects including numerical methods, physics, biology, genetics, physiology, and pharmacology. My favorite areas to teach are biomechanics and genetics because they combine analytical thinking with real-world applications in health and medicine. I'm passionate about helping students build confidence in challenging subjects by making complex concepts clear and approachable. I've tutored college-level biology and engineering courses and mentored students in both lab-based design and knowledge-based courses. My teaching style is clear, adaptive, and supportive, with a focus on step-by-step problem-solving and independent thinking.
Hi! I am passionate about tutoring and mentoring students. I want to make learning fun and want to work together to reach your academic goals! Look forward to connecting with you!! :)
I am an undergraduate at Johns Hopkins University currently pursuing a degree in Molecular and Cellular Biology. Since high school, I have tutored students online during COVID and in person at schools as part of various volunteer programs. I tutor a variety of topics but am passionate about Chemistry, Biology, and Math. I especially enjoy the application of these subjects and love helping struggling students develop an interest in these subjects to help them succeed. Seeing students have that "ah-ha!" moment is something I strive to bring about in those I tutor and something I hope to continue to do.
