About Me

I am a certified teacher in several areas including Reading, Elementary Education, English as a Second Language, and Middle Grades Science. As a teacher, I use hands-on activities, test taking strategies, and vocabulary review games to increase student achievement. I understand the importance of making learning engaging and effective. I specialize in working with students with learning differences, specifically in Science, Math, and English/Language Arts. I have experience in teaching language arts and math in preparation for the state tests as well as in summer school. Because of my instructional techniques and subject area knowledge, my students were able to increase their comprehension and skills to pass their required tests. In addition to skills in math and science, my undergraduate degree included a majority of upper level classes in history and literature. I am confident in my abilities to work with students needing assistance in writing, reading, and history. Having a great passion for education, I offer high enthusiasm and motivation in tutoring sessions. It is my firm goal to enhance the quality of students educational experience by providing the opportunities to find success.
