I have had the opportunity to teach 1st grade (ESOL Self-contained students), 3rd grade, and 5th/6th-grade position as both a math and science teacher. In addition, I have taught middle school reading and language arts (Grades 6-8) as well as 6th-grade math. I have also had the opportunity to attend Common Core training workshops that helped me implement the Common Core Standards with the Florida Standards Assessment. Besides that, I am K-12 Reading and ESOL Endorsed and this has enabled me to apply various reading and ESL strategies when teaching reading and content area subjects. Examples are the Venn diagram, cause/effect chart, concept mapping, K-W-L chart, and RAFT, realia, and visuals. In addition, I have been able to use these same strategies when teaching math. I would love to have the opportunity to use these techniques in helping students stay engaged in their lessons. In addition to my teaching experience, I have also provided intensive reading and math tutoring for grades 3- 8 in an FCAT Saturday Academy, as well as grades 2-8 in an after-school tutoring program for the Florida Standards Assessment.

I love interior decorating, going to the movies, and traveling.
