I am a happy English Teacher. I learned to teach while serving in the Peace Corps in Poland. I have 15 years of teaching experience and 6 years of experience tutoring students of all ages. I am especially good at elementary school Language Arts and Math. I have a Ph.D. in Education from DePaul University in Chicago and love to work with all kinds of students from everywhere. My BA is from the University of Illinois in Champaign/Urbana, Phi Beta Kappa, and my MA is in Public Policy from the George Washington University in Washington DC. I have taught here in the US for many years and also overseas. I would love to meet you! My doctoral work is in Gifted Education, so if your student is particularly good in certain subjects I may be the teacher for you. I taught Gifted Enrichment at the high school level for 5 years and assisted in a curriculum redesign. I have also taught gifted elementary students. This is a passion of mine though I am happy to teach any student who needs to improve academically.

My favorite thing to do is get a book and go read by Lake Michigan. I also like to bike around town. I am always interested in getting on a plane to travel the world. I spent 4th grade in Switzerland and that really impacted my life. I love to drive around the United States, and one of my goals is to visit every National Park.
