About Me
My work has spanned classrooms, nonprofit programs and global arts initiativesalways with the goal of helping students unlock their potential and connect learning to real-life impact. I've supported learners from early literacy through college-level writing, helping them gain not only academic skills but confidence and clarity in their own voice. I hold a Bachelor's in Management Information Systems, and my graduate-level work has focused on arts education, cultural storytelling, and communication. My favorite subjects to tutor are writing and literature, because I love helping students become more expressive, critical thinkers who can analyze and articulate complex ideas. My tutoring style is compassionate, intuitive, and structured. I believe in meeting students where they are while offering them the tools and strategies to rise higher. I blend creativity with a strong focus on outcomes, customizing each session to the learner's goals, strengths, and challenges. Outside of academia, I am a spoken word poet, jazz musician, and educator who values cultural connection and lifelong learning. Whether a student needs help crafting a college essay, mastering grammar, or gaining confidence in verbal expression, I'm committed to guiding them with care and enthusiasm.
Hobbies & Interests
When I’m not tutoring, you’ll usually find me playing jazz on my saxophone, writing poetry, or performing at spoken word open mics. I’m passionate about storytelling—through music, words, and shared experiences—and that love shows up in how I connect with students. I enjoy exploring different cultures, spending time outdoors, and finding creative ways to make learning feel alive and meaningful. Whether I’m jamming with other musicians, reading something that sparks my imagination, or speaking truth on stage, I’m always looking for new inspiration to bring into my teaching.
