About Me
My name is Emiliano Vera, and I am passionate about helping students discover the joy of learning through personalized, culturally rich instruction. I hold a Bachelor of Science in Education and Social Policy from Northwestern University and a Master's in Governance and Globalization from Universidad de las Amricas Puebla in Mexico. My academic journey, combined with my fluency in English and Spanish and my conversational proficiency in Mandarin and Thai, has given me a deep appreciation for language, culture, and the diverse ways students learn. I believe that education is most powerful when it meets students where they areadapting to their unique needs, interests, and learning styles. I have extensive experience working with students across a range of ages and subjects. As a Bilingual World History and English Language Teacher in Puebla, Mexico, I designed and delivered engaging, multimedia lessons to secondary students. More recently, as an Americorps Fellow with Saga Education, I have provided high-impact math tutoring and developed educational initiatives for diverse communities. I have also created and managed an after-school program for underserved K-5 students, designing a multicultural curriculum from scratch. Whether I am tutoring Spanish, history, or test preparation, my goal is always the same: to build confidence, inspire curiosity, and empower students to achieve their full potential.
