I am still attending the University of New Mexico to get a Bachelor of Science in Physics. My hopes are that I can get into a good graduate program for Physics or Astrophysics so that I can become a professor. I tutor Physics, Chemistry, Geometry, Algebra, and Calculus. My favorite subjects to tutor are Physics, and Geometry. Physics and geometry are my favorite subjects to tutor since I am very passionate about physics and believe it can be taught at every level of education. Why geometry is a favorite might have seemed weird at first, but Einstein himself believed geometry is a branch of physics not math. This is why physics is for all ages. I focus on improving the students understanding of the subject. Then I focus on teaching them what critical, creative, and/or logical thinking they need to apply to the subject. For example I will start by ensuring the student has a vivid understanding of how gravity and acceleration are related before teaching them how a pendulum works or how to solve for the path of a rocket. I believe that by knowing how to critically think for a subject allows you to apply what you have learned for life, this also makes studying for finals much easier in the future. Outside of school I enjoy listening to music, working with computers in general and learning other languages. I enjoy improving who I am by meditating, reading, and exercising every day.

Frequently Asked Questions
One of the biggest challenges in statistics is seeing the "why" behind each formula and method. Personalized 1-on-1 instruction allows tutors to slow down and build conceptual understanding from the ground up—showing you how mean, median, and standard deviation actually describe data patterns, rather than just how to calculate them.
A tutor can connect abstract statistical ideas to real-world examples, use visual representations (like histograms and scatter plots) to reveal patterns, and ask questions that guide you to discover concepts yourself. This approach helps you retain information longer and apply statistics to new problems confidently, rather than relying on memorization.
Word problems require you to identify what the question is really asking, decide which statistical tools apply, and then execute the calculation—that's a lot of moving parts. Personalized tutoring breaks this process into manageable steps, teaching you strategies to parse the problem, recognize patterns (like when to use a t-test versus a correlation), and build a solution plan before diving into calculations.
Tutors can work through problems at your pace, helping you practice the critical thinking skills that make word problems feel less intimidating. Over time, you'll see that many problems follow similar structures, and you'll develop confidence in tackling new ones.
Yes. Showing work in statistics means documenting your reasoning and all steps in your process—from identifying the data and stating your hypotheses, to listing the test you're using and why, to performing calculations and interpreting results. Many students skip steps or jump to conclusions without justifying them.
A tutor can model what complete, clear work looks like for different types of problems (hypothesis tests, confidence intervals, regressions, etc.) and give you feedback on your submissions. This builds the communication skills statistics teachers value and helps you avoid losing points for incomplete reasoning.
Math anxiety is real, and statistics can feel especially intimidating because it mixes procedural skills with abstract reasoning and interpretation. Personalized tutoring creates a judgment-free space where you control the pace and can ask questions without feeling rushed or embarrassed.
A tutor helps you identify exactly where confusion happens—is it the calculations, the logic of hypothesis testing, or interpreting graphs?—and tackles those specific gaps. As you build small wins and see yourself successfully solving problems you once found impossible, confidence naturally grows. Over time, you'll realize statistics is a learnable skill, not an innate talent.
Different textbooks and courses emphasize different approaches—some focus heavily on probability foundations, others jump quickly into hypothesis testing, and some integrate technology and simulation methods. Experienced statistics tutors understand these variations and can work with your specific curriculum and materials.
Whether you're using an AP Statistics course, a college introductory statistics class, or another framework, a tutor will align instruction to your course's structure, notation, and expectations. They'll also help you understand how topics connect across units and build toward the bigger picture of statistical thinking.
Students often confuse correlation with causation, misinterpret p-values (thinking p < 0.05 means the null hypothesis is definitely false), struggle with conditional probability, or misunderstand what a confidence interval actually represents. These misconceptions stick because they sound intuitive but lead to incorrect conclusions.
A tutor actively checks for these misunderstandings and addresses them head-on through discussion, real examples, and strategic questioning. By correcting misconceptions early and reinforcing correct interpretations repeatedly, you'll build the conceptual foundation to think statistically—not just mechanically apply tests.
With consistent personalized tutoring, most students improve their understanding of core concepts, feel more confident tackling unfamiliar problems, and see grade improvements within a few weeks. You'll develop the ability to choose appropriate statistical methods for different scenarios, interpret results correctly, and communicate statistical findings clearly.
Whether your goal is earning a strong grade on the AP exam, passing a college course, or genuinely understanding how to use statistics in your field, a tutor helps you work backward from that goal and build skills systematically. The timeline and pace depend on where you start and how frequently you meet, but measurable progress is achievable for students committed to the process.
