I also work as a reading interventionist with the Leveled Literacy Intervention program as well as Sonday for students who benefited from multisensory reading instruction.I graduated in June 2004 from Columbia High School, in May 2008 from Rutgers College with a Bachelor's Degree in Psychology, in May 2009 with a Master's Degree in Education and have dual certification in elementary education (K-5) and middle school mathematics (6-8). I returned to school at Kean University to get my Teacher of Students with Disabilities certification which I completed in 2013.Working with students with special needs means working with learners with widely varying abilities. I design creative, stimulating lesson plans that accommodate multiple intelligences, bring a hands-on approach to learning, and keep students interested and focused. I encourage student learning by using a number of hands on activities, including the use of manipulatives, and by incorporating technology into my lessons.

As a writer and English professor, helping people tap into the power of language is my passion. I have tutored students of all levels throughout my career, from high school students hoping to improve their essay writing skills to PhD candidates working on dissertations. In my own academic journey, I studied creative writing. I love bringing the sense of fun and freedom, along with many of the techniques and practices I learned in creative writing classrooms into my work with students.

I have a holistic view in terms of tutoring and teaching. All students learn in different ways such as visually, kinetically, auditorily, and other ways. I am committed to finding the best way to help my student learn the material even if it means going above and beyond the call of duty.Personally, I am a Psychology and Gender Studies double major graduating in May 2017. After that, I will be attending a masters program in mental health counseling and eventually going on to get my doctorate in clinical psychology.My skills include time management, test-taking skills, writing aid, reading comprehension, verbal and reading skills, and test preparation.

I am an aspiring character artist for games and currently work as a prop artist. I received my studio art bachelors in 2018 and a 3D modeling diploma in 2020. I tutor for drawing, digital painting, digital sculpting, 3D modeling and texturing for games. I believe in student-centered learning and prioritize building observational skills and fostering creativity. I think the best way for a student to learn is through discovery led by careful guidance.I have four years worth of experience working as a tutor in elementary schools and an additional eight years experience of working as a summer camp counselor. I am a graduate of a school in northwest Pennsylvania with a degree in Biochemistry & Piano Performance and plan on attending Medical School in the near future. In my four years there, I was selected by the department chairs to be the designated tutor for Mathematics (Precalculus to Calculus 3), Organic and General Chemistry, Biology (Cellular, Molecular, Developmental, and Genetics), and Physics, each for minimum of one year. The reason I agreed to tutor again and again each year they approached me is because I simply loved it. It is hard to describe the wonderful feeling of seeing a student you helped master the material in front of you and run through problems like they're nothing. My favorite question since childhood has been "why?". I was never a fan of just memorizing facts, because not only do you not really understand the material, but you are likely to forget it. That principle has transitioned over to my tutoring style. We start from the most basic, simplest core of the concept. Once we understand that, we slowly work our way up until you understand even the most difficult concepts..soon you're able to tell me the reason for every variable in the Schrdinger equation. Sometimes my students also develop a passion for knowing why and I love it. I'm not a tutor automaton though; my other hobbies/passions include piano, weight lifting, classical music (and concerts), composition, and environmental activism. In addition to tutoring, I've spent time in my institution as the head of research regarding nuclear import receptors via the genetic engineering of yeast to express the human AR receptor and the transformation and construction of plasmids.

I am a proud graduate of Grambling State University in Grambling, LA. I received my Bachelors Degree in Computer Science. I have always loved working with children. I was a Bible Study teacher and coordinator for over 25 years. At one point in my career, I took a break from my technology career to pursue a career in education. I successfully completed several classes at Touro University in California. I started working as a substitute teacher in 2000. I taught students from elementary to high school. I received so much positive compliments from the staff until one day I was offered a position as a high school Math teacher. I taught Algebra I and Geometry for about 3 years until I became a single parent. Unfortunately, I had to leave teaching and go back into technology to support myself and my three children. Now that my children are grown, I am looking into going back into education in my spare time. I am starting out by tutoring. I also have accepted a position to teach children 6-12 years old (reading) in China online. I also plan to go back to school to pursue degree in education. I have always loved working with students and have often been told that this is my calling/gift.

As someone who has endured multiple standardized tests and successfully completed high school and college, I understand the importance of tutors.
