I love helping students of all ages to develop passion and responsibility for their studies. In addition to classroom teaching, I have tutored middle school, high school, and college students (both traditional-age students and returning adult students) through area colleges and non-profit organizations. My tutoring style comes from my understanding and experience of the learning process. In order to improve their skills, students need motivation (a sense of the rewards and excitement of learning), practice, and mentorship. For each student, these three elements come in different forms, and as a tutor, my job is to provide an "in" to the subject matter for each individual. In other words, one size does not fit all, and I tailor my approach based on students' personalities and needs. My clients and colleagues often describe me as approachable, insightful, reliable, and trustworthy. In my free time, I enjoy biking, hiking, reading, writing, watching films and travelling.
