After earning a PhD in Biological Sciences from the University of California, Irvine where I focused on the neurobiology of learning and memory, I decided to change career paths. After completing 18 months of a post-baccalaureate pre-health program at New York University, I am elated to pursue a career in Veterinary Medicine. I had the privilege of teaching multiple classes during my graduate career, and am excited to work one-on-one with students. I am eager to connect with them on a more personal level so that I may adjust my teaching style to meet the need of each individual. I earned a BA from the University of Rochester in Brain & Cognitive Sciences. Both my graduate and undergraduate studies have explored how the brain effectively learns information, and I look forward to opportunities where I can share what I have researched with others. Given my background, I am proficient in math, science, and psychology, and can help my students apply the principles of scientific writing to create clear and concise essays. Having recently taken the GREs, I look forward to sharing strategies for effective test-taking and SAT preparation. In my spare time I love running, and am a member of a women's running club. I particularly enjoy obstacle and mud-themed races, and the team atmosphere they encourage.
