Her interest in education started when she tutored immigrant students as an undergraduate. This interest continued to expand through her work as a teacher at an urban elementary school in Atlanta, where she led her students to achieve significant academic growth. Wanting to gain a deeper knowledge about the issues surrounding education and levers for improvement, Mary attended the Harvard Graduate School of Education and earned her Ed.M. in Education Policy and Management in Spring 2015. Mary currently lives in New York City and works as a consultant for an education non-profit. She tutors most K-12 subjects, but she especially passionate about teaching reading and writing to students of all ages. Her tutoring style is to ensure that students gain a deep understanding of the material and are able to analyze, synthesize, evaluate, and explain in their own words. It is also very important to her that students experience the joy of learning! Besides education, her interests include traveling, reading, and practicing yoga. .
