About Me
Hello! I graduated with a B.A. in History and Biblical Studies (double major) in Dec 2013 from Grove City College. After graduating, I worked as a museum teacher in the historic-industrial city of Lowell, MA where I taught a variety of programs that highlighted both historical and scientific aspects of the Industrial Revolution. Through this job, I learned the importance of "hands-on" activities in helping convey complex ideas in tangible ways. This job also provided opportunities for me to develop techniques that would help engage students' attention with a topic that they may or may not be interested in. During this time, I was also a youth intern at my church, working and teaching kids ranging from pre-K to high school. Working with such a wide range of kids taught me how to be flexible with presenting my teaching materials and how to relate with kids from all different stages and walks of life. While I have the most experience teaching history and religious studies, I am also comfortable teaching other topics (math, science, etc.) for elementary and middle school students. I have a passion to teach and work with kids at all levels. I think it's crucial in teaching to personally know the student and then adapt the lesson so that it best fits the student's personality and learning style. I look forward to hearing from you and getting to know your student to best support and encourage their growth through learning.
