I then spent two years living in southeast Asia, first teaching at a college in Vietnam then working at a Dutch development nonprofit in Indonesia. I am currently pursuing a computer science post-baccalaureate degree at Penn. I am an experienced multi-disciplinary tutor with a social studies teaching credential, I am easy-going, and have worked with students of all ages. Past tutoring subjects include: Pre-algebra, Algebra, Geometry, Trigonometry, Pre-calculus, AB calculus, Spanish, French, AP US History, and SAT. My favorite subject is probably history as I think understanding the context of things should strongly influence the way they are understood. I particularly enjoy tutoring math because I firmly believe that all students can master any academic subject if they put their minds to it, and that with the right prompting and assistance they will be willing to use their minds! My tutoring style is essentially Socratic - I try to ask leading questions to guide students toward academic discovery rather than feeding out answers.

I love reading, cooking, playing soccer, riding my bike, playing the cello, and acquiring esoteric knowledge
