This means that every single person has the capability to be successful. I do not believe that anybody is "bad at math", some people simply learn in different ways or have not been given the chance to fully engage the subject to understand completely. I believe in teaching holistically, teaching understanding; I believe it is most important to understand the material on your own. Someone can tell you how to answer a problem, but the student will only progress when they can reach the solution on their own. I enjoy patiently helping a student discover their own path to the answer. With someone to help out if the student deviates from the right direction, I believe each and every student can achieve their learning goals. Since graduating from Connecticut College in 2010, I have worked as a teacher to students of all ages: from 3 on up. I have taught in the US, in China, in classrooms, at summer camps, in the outdoors, all over. I have a liberal arts background. I graduated with a focus on Chinese language, but studied history, philosophy, math, science, art, music, and literature among other subjects.
