Though my studies were focused primarily in these two academic fields, I have taken courses in sociology, statistics, history, calculus, and biology. During my junior year I worked for a local non-profit organization that provides after-school tutoring for Poughkeepsie City School District students in grades K-5. As an employee, I tutored students in elementary math, science, social studies, and English. While working for this organization, I learned how to effectively manage classrooms of 10 to 25 students, while also frequently adjusting my communication style according to individual students academic needs. In addition to my experience as an after-school tutor, I have worked as a private tutor in math and English, preparing students for their NYS Regents Exams. As a private tutor, I've created supplemental materials to prepare a middle school students for their New York State Regent's Examination in algebra and geometry.

I love to dance! I'm hoping to get back into modern dance when I can find the time! I also love to read. Some of my favorite authors include: Audre Lorde, Angela Davis, and bell hooks (to name only a few of many!)
