In my experience teaching, I have learned that empowerment in a subject is a combination of efficient guidance from me and a willingness to improve from my students. By signing up for tutoring, students are already taking the first step to mastering whatever areas in which they may be having difficulty. I won't do all the work for my students but I will never leave them to figure out everything by themselves, as that defeats the purpose of a tutor. I will constantly assess understanding during the learning process, thus gradually giving my students the confidence that they have moved into deeper understanding of material. With the right instruction, everyone is capable of overcoming those problem subjects, and I am happy to help along the way.
