I believe that math is fun but only when the person doing it feels confident, understands the concepts, is accepted for his/her level of competence, and is able to accept a challenge that he/she feels there is a reasonable chance of success. As a tutor, I try to provide a variety of activities to keep the student involved, a pleasant and comfortable learning environment , and challenges that stretch the student's thinking. Each lesson will contain a recap of previously studied concepts, presentation of new concepts, application of the new concepts and then a summary of the day's lesson and a projection of what might be learned in the coming lesson..
