While in college, I learned that I love helping students deepen their understanding and master challenging subjects in ways that are helpful and enjoyable. Over the past ten years, I have taught middle, high school, and adult students in a range of settings and subjects, including writing and composition and science. With this background, I encourage students to think critically and creatively, and I bring topics alive by discussing real-world examples. I offer tutoring in test prep (SAT and ACT) and writing (such as college essays), and I most enjoy tutoring writing. When students better understand writing concepts and strategies, they can more skillfully articulate their ideas, and they make remarkable progress. In all my tutoring sessions, I focus on creating a warm, conversational, and positive atmosphere while challenging students intellectually. I strive to provide individualized instruction that meets students where they are. I love seeing their progress and watching their confidence grow. Outside of work, I enjoy cooking, doing yoga, swimming, and working on craft projects.
