- Nothing makes me happier than to have a student say they learned more from a tutoring session than they have in school.
About Me
When I look back, I realize I've been a scientist all of my life. I've instinctively used in some form the tools scientists use to discover the world around them. I think this way, and I want to help my students find these tools for themselves. Before I became a teacher, I worked in medical research for 15 years in some amazing places: Washington University Medical School in St. Louis, Columbia University Medical School, Rockefeller University, and Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center. I've worked in such research fields as Cholesterol metabolism, Diabetes, Sudden Infant Death Syndrome, Cystic Fibrosis, Asthma, pain management, and chemotherapy. I taught in New York City public schools for 23 years before retiring, and it has been a rewarding experience that has allowed me to work with English language learners, students with special needs, and many students whose area of study were not remotely science directed.
