As a tutor, I have not only an excellent command of both languages but also a great deal of cultural knowledge. My bachelor's degree is in Business Management and Communication, currently I am enrolled in graduate school. I have taught students of different backgrounds and age groups. My method is geared towards understanding the material, rather than just rote completion of homework. I am multilingual after having spent many years studying languages and emerging in their cultures. I have many years of experience teaching English as a second language and Spanish, privately and corporately. I love teaching English and Spanish and I bring passion to every lesson, in hopes that my students will also come to love the language. My teaching style is communicative. Though I place emphasis on the ability to communicate ideas, I also stress grammar and vocabulary. All these skills (reading, writing, speaking, listening) are fundamental to becoming proficient in English or Spanish. My classes focus on mastering all skills and the methods are meaningful and relevant to the age of the student I tutor. I help my students master not only the material they need to learn, but also their confidence in being able to communicate effectively.
