I have taught bilingual (Spanish) classes for 1st and 5th graders and AP Spanish Language and Culture. I have also worked with Varsity Tutors for seven years. I love teaching and witnessing the academic and linguistic growth students achieve when good-quality instruction is in place. I like to get to know my students and build relationships with them. As I get to know them, I look for different approaches and learning strategies to help them achieve their goals. I graduated from the University of Texas at El Paso with a master's in Curriculum and Instruction with a Concentration in Bilingual Education. My certifications include early childhood to 6th grade in all subjects and Spanish from beginner to advanced. I hold a Texas Principal Certification from Angelo State University. I was named LULAC Chapter Bilingual Teacher of the Year for the 2018-2019 school year, Campus Teacher of the Year for 2019-2020, and Campus Teacher of the Year for the 2020-2021 school year. In 2023, I was awarded the recognition of Master Teacher by the Texas Education Agency (TEA). I have participated in decision-making committees in collaboration with TEA to help develop appropriate testing materials for students. In my free time, I love reading, cooking, jogging, and, most importantly, spending time with my family. I am married, and have two children.
