In 2003, I graduated from Penn State with a B.A. in English, and in 2015, I completed my M.Ed with a focus in School Counseling from the University of Tennessee- Martin. Spending the last three years working in a small, private school has afforded me the opportunity to develop both my counseling and teaching skills. When working with students, I try to personalize the content to their interests whenever possible. I also try to give appropriate challenges; I want students to be engaged and always learning, but not overwhelmed and frustrated. As an educator, my passion is helping students experience those "ah-ha!" moments, when everything clicks at once and students feel empowered ad confident.

When I'm not working, my interests/hobbies include spending time with my lovely family, backpacking on the Appalachian Trail, competing in volleyball tournaments as often as possible, reading, and baking.
