I am a professional and engaging ESL Instructor with a bachelor's degree from Wesleyan University and a Certificate in English Language Teaching to Adults (CELTA) from the University of Cambridge. I currently teach ESL at Empire State English, an accredited language school, and RISSE, the Refugee Immigrant Support Services of Emmaus. I have taught at elementary schools, secondary schools, language schools, non-profit organizations, and as a private tutor. I have worked with all ages, including kids, business employees, working adults, parents, and students. My students are from all around the globe, including China, Brazil, Afghanistan, Syria, Democratic Republic of the Congo, Iran, Ecuador, and Russia. My areas of expertise for ESL are Business English, Pronunciation, and Communication. My approach to teaching Business English is to develop specific areas of functional language to allow you to succeed in your job. I can teach you how to write effective business reports, negotiate with clients, give presentations, network, attend business meetings, conduct or participate in interviews, write emails, and travel for work, to name some. I also tutor for Visual Arts (my expertise is drawing), the USCIS Citizenship test, and elementary and secondary education. I am very good at what I do:-I identify learning goals and specific needs and provide strategies to address them.- I tailor lessons to fit your interests, cultural backgrounds, and learning styles.- I help to smooth out accents, improve fluency, and build confidence.- I teach the essentials of English grammar, lexis, form, and phonology.- I develop your understanding and familiarity with American culture and customs.- I provide personalized homework assignments for your continued growth outside of the classroom. I am most inspired as a teacher when students are inspired about their learning. When I am not teaching, you can find me drawing, singing, biking, and learning Hungarian! I love learning about shamanism, Buddhism, and history. I am passionate about visual arts, nature, and learning.
