As an educator, I've been teaching since 2004. I began my teaching career as a grad student at UNLV, where I taught dramatic literature courses for three years, having taught Script Structure and Analysis and how to apply that analysis to a student's own writing. I began teaching Composition (non fiction and essays) and Creative Writing to students from remedial levels to adult continuing education at Great Basin College for ten years. Non fiction courses concentrated primarily on argument and thesis development, which also includes the basics of argument writing, MLA and APA formats, and critical thinking skills. Having taught a wide array of students from both rural and urban environments, I have had ten years of professional development and classroom training that focuses on student's needs from socio-emotional development to presenting a multilingual/cultural curriculum using the mediums of art, plays and literature.
