- I am a self-confessed English grammar nerd!
About Me
I love learning and teaching languages, and there is nothing I love more than helping my students reach their English-learning goals. I have a Doctor of Education in Curriculum and Instruction (with a concentration in Language, Literacy and Culture) from the University of Pittsburgh and a Master's of Science in Education in TESOL from Wilkes University (I also teach part-time in this program). I've spent the past 12+ years in TESOL (before that I was an architect), and I look forward to helping my students understand the complexities and beauty of English (grammar, pronunciation, and orthography just to name a few). I have taught ESL on three continents, and I am well-versed in intercultural communication. My research interests are oral corrective feedback, World Englishes, and language teacher identities (LTI). I also teach and tutor EAP, EBP, and EMP in addition to helping with test preparation, e.g., IELTS. When not immersed in the world of English teaching and research, I like to travel around the world, but I can also be found at home watching true crime documentaries, reading, or gardening. I'm trying to learn to like going to the gym, too!
