- As a lifelong learner, I know how difficult it is to learn just in a general classroom setting.
- I personally worked through different studying styles to work out which study method was best for me.
About Me
As it turns out, the one-method-fits-all approach wasn't the answer - it all varies depending on the subject and situation. I am a visual, tactile, and auditory learner so I incorporate all of these traits when learning. I strive to use this adaptive approach when teaching others as well! Through leadership programs and babysitting, I have taught students in several settings. I have experience teaching from young grade school students to university levels through programs such as peer leadership. I have a Bachelor's degree in Biology at Georgia Gwinnett College in Georgia and will soon finish my Master's degree in Marine Biology from Stockholm University in Stockholm, Sweden. I am also working towards a certification as a Veterinary technician at San Juan College in New Mexico. My passion for helping students comes from my very nature. I always loved helping others and I tend to have patience equivalent to a teacher. This has naturally progressed to me being in roles in which I educate. The subjects I tutor for are biology, math (algebra and calculus), English and Japanese. Tutoring for Japanese is my favorite as I love how passionate students are when they are interested in the Japanese language and culture. As a native speaker of Japanese and English, I know the common struggles students face with both languages and I know how to address them.
