About Me
Hi, My name is Amber Wilson. I am in my 11th year of teaching special education. I have a bachelor's degree in early childhood education with a concentration in Special Education from Georgia State University in 2011. I then pursued my Masters degree in Collaborative Special Education (K-6th) from The University of Alabama in 2012. I pursed my Educational Specialist degree in Special Education from University of West Georgia in 2015. I have taught resource/co-taught K-5th in DeKalb County starting in 2013 for 5.5 years. I then went to teach resource/co-taught middle school math in 2018 for Gwinnett County Public Schools for 4 years. I am currently teaching self-contained Mild Intellectual/Moderate Intellectual Disabilities in Hall County School District starting in 2022. I believe that all students can learn, and they will learn to their potential. It might not be what everyone else is learning and it might not be at the same time as everyone else. I also believe that whatever a child is growing up to be, it will be the best they can be and will do the best they can do. I like working with students and believing in them and giving them the opportunity to learn and fill in the gaps that they are missing.
Hobbies & Interests
I enjoy spending time with my family (sister, nephew, mom, dad), my husband, and my dogs. I enjoy reading books and watching movies and TV. I also enjoying exercising and spending time outside, at the lake or the beach.
