I am certified to teach early childhood- 6th grade in the state of Texas. I am also certified in English Second Language and Gifted and Talented. I have taught in the classroom for 7 years- 3 years in pre-k, 3 years in 1st grade, and 1 year in 3rd grade ELAR/Social Studies. I have an extensive history working with children in various positions for 15+ years- Awanas leader, church small group leader, soccer coach, and daycare teacher. While I tutor a broad range of subjects, I am most passionate about reading. I really enjoyed my last year teaching 3rd grade reading and helping students focus in on passing the reading STAAR test. I am a firm believe in the importance of reading and establishing fluency and comprehension young.

In my spare time, I enjoy reading, traveling and spending time outside. I have two little girls and a golden retriever that take up most of my time. My husband is also a teacher and coaches as well, so we spend a lot of time cheering on his teams!
