I love helping children learn and I love to see the excitement when they learn something new for the first time or when they finally grasp a concept that was hard. I have taught kindergarten since 2008. I have a Bachelor's in Elementary Education and a Master's in Curriculum Design and Instruction, both from McKendree University. When a child reads a sentence for the first time that they thought they may not be able to do, that joy in their face fills my heart. Teaching them that "they may not be able to do it YET but soon they will be able to" is so important. They can do anything they put their minds to.

I love to read! I always have a book with me anywhere I go. I also love to craft and play sports and games with my own children.
