About Me

I am a proud graduate of Northern Arizona University, where I earned my Master of Education in Elementary Education, along with endorsements as a Reading Specialist and in Structured English Immersion. Additionally, I have completed coursework in the Science of Reading, further strengthening my expertise in literacy instruction. Currently in my 19th year of teaching, I have had the privilege of working with students across multiple grade levels. I spent 4.5 years as a 1st-grade teacher, 4 years as a 3rd-grade teacher, and 1 year in special education. For the past 10 years, I have served as a Reading Specialist for kindergarten through 3rd grade, a role that has deepened my passion for literacy and foundational learning. While I am eager to tutor across a broad range of subjects, my greatest passion lies in reading and math. Helping struggling students build strong foundational skills in these areas has been one of the most rewarding aspects of my career. I firmly believe that education is the key to an improved quality of life, and I strive to instill this appreciation in every student I work with. My teaching philosophy centers on engagement and making learning an enjoyable, interactive experience. Beyond the classroom, I enjoy reading, crocheting, cross-stitching, ranching, playing sports, and solving puzzle games. These hobbies reflect my love for problem-solving, creativity, and lifelong learningvalues I aim to pass on to my students.
