- "We are what we repeatedly do.
- Excellence then, is not an act, but a habit." I truly adore this quote by Aristotle.
About Me
Not only does it provoke deep thought, but it also serves as a reminder that some achievements require time and patience. From a young age, I dreamed of two things: becoming a mother and becoming a teacher. I'm delighted to say that I've realized both aspirations. However, neither journey was swift or straightforward; both have been the most rewarding experiences of my life. Reflecting on Aristotle's wisdom, I recognize that excellence is never a mere coincidence. Furthermore, excellence should not be equated with perfection. These concepts resonate with my philosophy on learning. Excellence is personal. Growth is personal. The way each of us strives toward these ideals is uniquely individual, and these simple truths hold great significance for me. I always envisioned myself as a teacher. Circumstances delayed my journey into teaching, and for that, I am thankful. A pivotal moment occurred when my son was in VPK, and I attended a Thanksgiving celebration at his daycare. On that day, I spoke to my boss and applied to return to school. Just a few months later, I enrolled in classes and began substitute teaching at my children's school. I quickly completed my degrees and earned my professional certification. Certainly, the process was neither seamless nor rapid. Yet, the beautifully imperfect nature of my story is precisely the point. It demanded effort and perseverance. Learning mirrors this experience. Each person's story is distinct; for some, it flows easily and swiftly, while for others, it requires more time and dedication. Regardless, it remains a journey. This is where I find my purpose. Every journey is significant. I cherish the opportunity to meet my students where they are and offer the support they need. I thrive on building relationships. There's nothing more fulfilling than connecting with my students and witnessing their growth. Sometimes, it's about skill development; other times, it's about fostering confidence. Ultimately, it's always about cultivating habits and striving for excellence.
