About Me
I am a graduate of Brenau University, a private women's school based in Gainesville, in northern Georgia of the US. I earned a degree in Liberal Arts, with a focus in English, English composition and analysis, and digital and studio art. I enjoy working with both native English speakers and those for whom English is a second language (ESOL). My goal is always to help both groups to refine their English so that they can put their 'best foot forward' in school, on tests, and in the workplace. My teaching style tends to be conversational, with open-ended questions. I do my best to make lessons fun and engaging for my students; I find that learning some of their interests helps me make connections for them with the subject material, so they can see the value of their tutoring in recreation as well as their work. My mission statement is to help students realize the joy and the immense value of life-long learning. I want to nurture their curiosity and help them make critical interdisciplinary connections between topics to give them a more complete understanding of the world around them, as well as their understanding of the subject material, such as English or computer coding.
Hobbies & Interests
I enjoy painting, drawing, and writing children's books. In addition, I like to learn about computer coding, particularly front-end web design. (Excel coding is pretty interesting, too! Data trends have a lot to say.)
