Hi, my name is Emily! I am currently a fourth year medical student in Indianapolis. I completed my undergraduate education at Indiana University Bloomington, where I majored in Biology and Spanish. I also completed two minors in Mathematics and Chemistry. While at IU, I worked for the Department of Mathematics and Department of Spanish. I also worked as a Peer Tutor for the IU Athletics Department, tutoring in several subjects including statistics, chemistry, physics, and Spanish. I graduated from college with a 4.0, and I entered medical school shortly thereafter. Since coming to medical school, I have excelled in all of my pre-clinical coursework, and I currently rank in the Top 20% of my class. I feel very comfortable and confident tutoring other students in a variety of subjects from math and science to Spanish. I like to think that the same techniques I have used to excel in all phases of my education can be easily adapted to other students and help you achieve your academic goals, just as I have!

I graduated from the University of Delaware in 1980 with a Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering. I achieved Cum Laude distinction at the time of my graduation, and I was also admitted into Eta Kappa Nu, the electrical engineering honors society. In that organization, I was elected Chapter President during my senior year. Since graduation, I have worked in a wide variety of technology-based corporations, including Raytheon Company, EMS Wireless, and Envista Forensics LLC. My engineering experience was heavily based in mathematics and physics which I used to solve a broad range of engineering challenges. Now, as a retired engineer, I have taken up tutoring students. I specialize in mathematics - Algebra 1 and 2, Geometry, Pre-Calculus, and Calculus. I am passionate about teaching and learning! I learned from many years of technical experience the value of thoroughly learning the fundamentals of science and mathematics. I really enjoy having students get engaged with the coursework and see them excel beyond their expectations. In my personal time, I enjoy music and amateur radio.

I am a recent graduate of the University of Delaware with an Honors Bachelor of Arts with Distinction in International Relations. I am also an incoming PhD Student at the University of Pittsburgh. As a former Honors student, dean's list recipient, and research assistant, I have experienced educational success and I hope to share this learning expertise with other students. I have also successfully completed an undergraduate senior thesis defense, honing my writing and public speaking skills which have become my favorite subjects to practice and teach. I also spent four months living abroad in Paris, France with a French host family and taking French courses. In my spare time I enjoy reading, running, watching films, and trying new cuisines.I have also, on several occasions, relied on private tutors. As a graduating senior at the University of Wisconsin-Madison Business School in May of 2016, majoring in Accounting, I am eager to further expand my career and experiences. In fall, I will be beginning medical school at The University of Florida College of Medicine. Tutoring has always been a passion of mine. Throughout high school, I tutored fellow students struggling in core subject areas such as AP Calculus, AP Physics, AP Chemistry, and AP Economics. Then in college, I worked for a tutoring company for three years continuing this passion through tutoring calculus and statistics.It has always been my goal to cater to the unique learning style of those that I tutor so that they may not only earn a good grade in their course, but also so that they may actually master and enjoy the subject matter as much as possible. Since graduating I've worked extensively with an organization called the Creative Mind Group, a non-profit that pairs college-aged students with prestigious internships at film festivals around the globe. I've worked with students internationally in Berlin, the Cannes Film Festival, and the Sundance Film Festival in Utah.I've had a rich and interesting tutoring experience, having taught jazz piano, chess, video editing, and even taught basic English skills to Japanese speakers over Skype. For the past year I've volunteered with NY Cares, an organization that brings high-quality after-school programs to low income communities.I've always excelled both academically and in standardized tests. I know that intelligent and targeted private instruction has helped me all throughout my academic career. I'd love to fulfill that role for a student who's looking for that bit of extra help. I am most passionate about teaching reading and writing skills.I believe that learning should be fun but not without rigor. If I can figure out a hook to engage a student in the material, then I think I've done a good job.

I am currently a Phd candidate in History, and have been teaching History at University for four years. My teaching fields are American immigration and ethnic history, modern America, modern Europe, and world history. I have recently moved to New York from the Detroit area to research and write my doctoral dissertation. What better place to be for an immigration historian!

I am a graduate of Arizona State University, I got my degree in biological science. My favorite subjects have always been math and science. I learned to love math at a young age when I came to the Unites States from Poland, because it was the only subject that made sense to me at the time since I did not speak English. Over the years, I have found passion for science as well. Throughout high school and college I spent lots of my time working as a swim instructor for children and adults of all ages, and I also tutored various subjects on the side. I really enjoy teaching and being able to impact the lives of others by helping them with concepts they struggle with or introducing new concepts.
