I am a current student at the Georgia Tech Scheller Business School. In the last 5 years, I have mainly worked with students in elementary and middle school to find engaging ways in delivering productive tutoring sessions. While I am able to tutor in a broad range of subjects, Math, English, and test preparation are my strong points. I am a stern proponent of finding unique ways to match the interest level of students. In my past experience tutoring, I have always prioritized meeting a students particular needs and learning style to produce the best results possible. In my spare time, I enjoy reading, swimming, and playing basketball.

I am a current undergraduate student at the University of Georgia with majors in Biology and Psychology and a minor in Spanish. I have four years of tutoring experience, with two of them being completely virtual during the COVID-19 pandemic, so I am knowledgeable in virtual tutoring. I am currently a volunteer tutor at an after school program for elementary school students, where I assist with English and Math. Much of my expertise lies in one-on-one tutoring for elementary and middle school students. The subjects I am best at teaching include Language Arts and Chemistry, but I am also qualified to teach Essay Help, Biology, Spanish, and Math (K-8). In high school, I quickly realized that many of my teachers weren't teaching content in a way that made sense to me. I needed much more time and work to understand concepts than the teacher would give us, and I constantly felt like a failure. During my experience in virtual tutoring, I tailored each tutoring session to the student's learning style to ensure they effectively understood the content (whether this be auditory or visual). If they did not understand, I tried my best to give an alternate explanation. My teaching style is primarily example-based, with a quick introduction of the topic beforehand and time for you to practice afterward. I am also happy to offer homework help if that is what you need! I aim to make learning as effective and enjoyable as possible, and I welcome any suggestions from students or parents. I am quick to respond and would happily work around your schedule. Feel free to contact me with any additional questions!

I completed my bachelor's in Psychology at the University of Georgia and now am finishing my master's degree in Work and Organizational Psychology at the University of Groningen in the Netherlands. I am passionate about helping students succeed because I am passionate about the subjects I tutor and I believe I have the ability to help them see the interesting parts of those subjects. In previous positions I've had the opportunity to work with students and found it incredibly valuable and rewarding. I tutor in social sciences, English, and writing, and I would say my favorite subject of those is psychology. I would describe my tutoring style as student-driven and adaptable. I want to tutor in the way that you learn best. Outside of academia, I like hanging with my friends, reading, traveling, playing sports, cooking, and generally trying to fill my life with quality experiences.

Frequently Asked Questions

Yes. Varsity Tutors connects students from across Marietta's 81 schools with expert tutors. Whether your student attends a school in Cobb County Schools or Marietta City Schools, we work with learners at all grade levels and help them succeed with personalized 1-on-1 instruction tailored to their specific needs.

Georgia has specific academic standards across math, English language arts, science, and social studies. Tutors work with students to master grade-level Georgia standards and build strong foundational skills. This targeted approach is especially helpful for students who may need extra support to keep pace with classroom instruction or who want to accelerate their learning.

Students in Marietta commonly seek tutoring in math (especially algebra, geometry, and pre-calculus), English language arts, and test preparation for the SAT and ACT. We also work with students on AP courses, Georgia Milestones preparation, and foundational skills like reading and writing. Whatever your student's academic challenge, we can connect you with a tutor who specializes in that area.

The first session is an opportunity for the tutor to understand your student's learning style, academic goals, and specific areas where they need support. The tutor will assess your student's current level, discuss any challenges they're facing in the classroom, and create a personalized plan for moving forward. This foundation helps ensure that subsequent sessions are focused and effective.

While Marietta's average student-teacher ratio of 13.5:1 is reasonable, classroom instruction still can't address every student's individual learning pace or specific gaps. One-on-one tutoring provides undivided attention and instruction customized to your student's exact needs—something that's difficult to achieve in a classroom setting. This personalized approach helps students fill knowledge gaps, build confidence, and progress faster.

Absolutely. Varsity Tutors connects students with tutors experienced in Georgia Milestones preparation, SAT, ACT, and AP exam readiness. Tutors use targeted strategies to help students understand test formats, practice time management, and master the content areas where they're weakest. This focused preparation typically leads to improved confidence and stronger test performance.

Pricing varies based on the tutor's expertise, subject area, and your student's needs. We work with families across Marietta to find tutoring solutions that fit different budgets. During your initial consultation, we'll discuss your goals and help match you with a tutor whose rates align with your family's situation.

Simply reach out to Varsity Tutors and let us know your student's grade level, subject needs, and goals. We'll match them with an expert tutor who's a great fit for their learning style and academic challenges. Most families see their student connect with a tutor quickly, and you can typically schedule the first session within days.
