I'm 23 years old, and I'm originally from Danville, Indiana. I got my bachelor's degree in Biochemistry from Vassar College in Spring 2018. I'm currently in graduate school to become a pharmacist - I'm in my first year of the PharmD program at Northeastern University.

I am very thorough in the material and diligently work, while being patient, to make sure each student is understanding the lessons because I know everyone has a unique way he/she processes and learns.

I'm Sophie, and I'm a medical student with a passion for teaching. I want to work with patients, but my other goal is to go into academic medicine. I can't picture my present or future without education in it. I began tutoring for my little sister when both of us were in high school, helping her with math, English, science, and Spanish. In college, I started branching out to tutor friends. In 2019 I began volunteer tutoring for my college's chemistry department, and soon after, I took on a job at a local tutoring center teaching biology and chemistry (and occasionally physics and math) to high school students. Since taking the MCAT and scoring 99th percentile, I started tutoring for that as well. Biology and chemistry are my main teaching areas: chemistry because I've had the most tutoring experience in it, and biology because I have practical experience through lab research and patient care. I can also teach math or physics (I used to be an engineering student so I know those subjects well). I pride myself on bringing a real passion for the subjects I teach. I also strive to abolish simple; disjointed memorization and help my students see their subject matter through a logical, problem-solving oriented lens. I look forward to learning with you!

I am a current senior at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. I am completing a degree in Health Policy and Management with minors in chemistry and biology. Currently, I am on the pre-medical track at UNC I am applying to medical schools for next year. I have worked as a tutor at the UNC Learning Center for two semesters and I have been a TA for anatomy and physiology for three semesters (two of those as lead TA).

I am an alumna of The Williams School in New London, CT. I attended undergrad at Middlebury College in Middlebury, VT as a Molecular Biology & Biochemistry major. I am currently completing a dual Ph.D/Pharm.D. program at the University of Connecticut. My graduate work focuses on medicinal chemistry and pharmacology.

I am attending graduate school at the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign to receive my PhD in Analytical Chemistry. Someday I want to work for a biotech or pharmaceutical company. My tutoring experience has been unique because I have tutored students ranging from second grade to senior year college students where I primarily cover STEM (Science, Math, Engineering, and Technology) concepts. Recently, I have been a TA in chemistry and biology college level courses. My hands on experience has helped me become a better teacher because I use many different types of real world examples for students to learn and grasp concepts. I know every student can achieve greatness through hard work and when someone supports them along the way. In my spare time, I enjoy going for walks, listening to music, watching Netflix, and being outdoors.

I am a law student, but I took an unusual route to get there. I used to attend medical school but had a change of heart in my career path. Part of this was due to my political science major (double major with biology) in college as well as a number of Spanish and other courses that I took. Tutoring is something, I feel, that has come naturally to me, even back to my high school days. My goal is to help you learn as much as you can and reach your true potential. I am studying Chemical Biology in UC Berkeley. One of my passions is Organic Chemistry, which I used to loath but now enjoys after taking a year of it. Also, because I like helping others, I enjoys tutoring/teaching students who are struggling. During high school, I have tutored other high students after school on various subjects such as Math, Physics, Chemistry, and Latin. During college, I have held informal review sessions for General Chemistry and Organic Chemistry for my underclassmen. I tutored my roommate and one of my underclassmen in Organic Chemistry. Finally, with a Graduate Student TA, I co-taught a Organic Chemistry Lab class section , where I answer questions regarding lab material and demonstrate lab techniques.
