Currently, I am completing a Master's of Science in Communication Sciences and Disorders (Speech Pathology) at Rockhurst University. My undergraduate degree gave me a unique insight into the structure and function of language, especially English. During my time at Rockhurst University, I have worked as a Graduate Clinician at a small private school where I met with clients who struggled with spelling, writing, and reading comprehension. All three of these skills are interconnected, and progress in these areas requires use and understanding of complex syntax, morphology, phonetics, orthography and semantics. For this reason, I utilize a multilinguistic approach that simultaneously targets word-level spelling and reading, vocabulary expansion, spelling and writing conventions,and the use and comprehension of complex sentence structures. This approach can be tailored to each individual based on their needs and skill level. I firmly believe that competence in spelling, writing and reading comprehension are integral to continued academic success, and it is for this reason that I focus on improving these skills with those that I work with. In my spare time, I enjoy reading, crossword puzzles, art projects, and relaxing with friends and family.
