About Me

I am a Microbiology Master's candidate at California State University, Long Beach (CSULB) with an expected graduation date of May 2018. I have extensive teaching experience at the college level by working as a Teaching Associate for a Microbiology Lab Course for Health Professional Majors at (CSULB). At this position, I am responsible for instruction and oversight of up to 24 students. As this is an introductory class for non-science major students, I make sure that complex scientific theory is explained in a way that is easy for students to understand. In addition, I always try to incorporate real worlds examples to lectures to help students relate better to these lessons. Moreover, I encourage respectful active communication in the classroom so that students would not hesitate to come for help if they have troubles understanding specific concepts. As a Microbiology Master's candidate who graduated Magna Cum Laude with a bachelor's degree in Cell and Molecular Biology, I am proficient at several Natural Science courses such as Microbiology, Biology, General Chemistry and Mathematics. I am passionate about teaching and committed to students' learning and success. Furthermore, I am bilingual, fluent in both English and Vietnamese with great communication and interpersonal skills. As a detail-oriented person, I ensure the highest level of quality and accuracy in my work performance.
