About Me

My name is Vanessa. I am a passionate and qualified teacher and tutor. My education includes a BA in English from Washington and Lee University, and an MA in English Education from Columbia University's Teachers College. I have taught English in the classroom for over a decade. In addition, I have experience teaching S.A.T. prep courses and preparing students individually for ERB testing. I have tutored students outside of the classroom for many years. My qualifications include reading comprehension, analytical and creative writing, grammar and test prep. Because all students are unique, I meet each one where he or she is in the learning process, taking into account individual learning styles. In addition, I have a gift for making my sessions engaging and even fun. My students have enjoyed a lot of success over the years, which is always my goal. I look forward to getting to know you!
