- My own teaching philosophy has evolved from this famous quote by John Wesley: "Do all the good you can.
About Me
By all the means you can. In all the ways you can. In all the places you can. At all the times you can. To all people you can. As long as ever you can." Every teaching job I take on is an outflow from this statement. The pedagogical strategies I use, the learning strategies I implement for students, the instructional planning and assessment I put forth for learners, is a natural outflow from this initial belief in helping others. It's the reason I entered teaching in the first place. Without this core belief, I would not have chosen to become a teacher. The learning process is never the same for every student. Therefore, my consistent goal is to promote transformative learning by "speaking" to each student in a language he or she can understand, whether that language be visual, auditory, kinesthetic, or through reading/writing. My background of working in special needs classes has impressed upon me the necessity of addressing the specific learning requirements of each individual student as often as possible. I seek to create an environment in every tutoring session where learning is encouraged and supported, and an atmosphere of respect between the student and the instructor exists. I believe that this trust must be present in order for learning to take place. Thank you so much! Hope to see you in class soon. :)
