About Me
I began mentoring/tutoring while still in college, helping new writers hone their skills and become successful in class and competitions. After graduation, I spent a decade working in the journalism/marketing/PR world, gaining valuable knowledge about writing, business, and leading others. Then, in 2016, I was given the opportunity to become the acting adviser for the college newspaper that helped launch my career. I loved helping the students progress in their writing abilities and helping them find out what they were most passionate about. I believe it is important to find out what motivates someone, especially when they are trying to reach a goal or get better at something. Not only have I worked with college students, but I have also been a foster parent for the last few years and have the chance to parent and mentor children with a variety of backgrounds and abilities. I think this gives me a compassionate and empathetic approach to tutoring. When I'm not tutoring, I enjoy writing short stories, reading, crafting, baking and watching Disney movies with my kids.
