About Me

I am a university and high school science teacher, specializing in public health, fitness, and biology. I hold undergraduate degrees in Biology (B.S.) and Anthropology (B.A.) and my CPT certification through NASM. While I have been tutoring a wide range of subjects for over twenty years, I most enjoy teaching any subject involving the human body. I have always been amazed with its design, and I love sharing this enthusiasm with students! I believe that learning is a lifelong process and it's critical that we can all learn strategies and methods to best succeed and thereby continue discovering who we are as we study throughout life. I hold many professional certifications and have completed over ten years of graduate education and specializations after college, including my NASM personal training certification. One of my favorite endeavors is teaching this to others through a national Personal Training certification course on the college level (W.I.T.S.). I have vast experiences working with many common issues and struggles, and I love working in partnership to find "the key" for each student to optimize success. For this reason, I am very committed to teaching concepts in a variety of ways, especially focusing on analogies using everyday life experiences and visual images. I also firmly believe in keeping relationship- and confidence-building central to our partnership. I always strive to create an environment where the student feels comfortable to openly share their goals and struggles. In my free time, I love to run, swim, and read.
