About Me
Hi, I'm Sam! I am a sophomore at Cornell University where I study the world of labor and employment and work as a volunteer EMT. I am motivated to help students learn new things and overcome challenging obstacles. I worked as a volunteer elementary school enrichment tutor, a middle school homework tutor, and a member of the "History Center" when I was in high school. In addition to academic tutoring, I've worked with children as a camp counselor, lifeguard, and swim instructor. I'm passionate about working with students to strengthen their writing, discover historical connections, and unlock test taking strategies. I adapt my teaching style to fit each student's needs so that they can not only meaningfully learn content, but also explore strategies for approaching future learning. At school, I serve as the Membership Officer for our volunteer EMS agency, Cornell EMS, and am a member of the Cornell Political Union. Some of my favorite classes have included "Work, Labor, and Capital in the Global Economy," "Organizational Behavior," and writing seminars in mystery stories and ecofeminism.
Hobbies & Interests
