During term time at Harvard, I work as a Day Coordinator for an after school program with elementary and middle school students called Cambridge After School Program. I also worked as a Senior Counselor for the Summer Urban Program with PBHA, where I taught a classroom of rising 4th graders English, maths, and science to prevent summer slide. I also plan on working with children this summer with Crimson Summer Academy where I will be teaching a subject, likely history, to high school juniors and seniors. Prior to the corona outbreak, I was on a team to work directly with high school students in Vietnam to teach a seminar on mythology. I have extensive experience working with children, which has helped me develop soft skills such as patience, thorough explanation, problem resolution, and communication. Since June, I have taught English to high school students from Eastern Europe, which has been very fulfilling, as I see their comprehension grow! At Harvard University, I am a concentrator in the History of Science which involves the study of the development of knowledge. It is amazing to see how systems and thought evolve. History of Science has been amazing in changing my consideration of what is science and who gets a chance to live in our world which inspired my change to the non-medical path of history of science towards public health.

I plan on becoming a healthcare scientist with a focus on helping low-income communities and communities of color to help address the infant mortality rate which is, unfortunately, higher among these populations. The issues that women of color, specifically black women, face with hospital care and receiving proper treatment have recently been brought my attention. I would like to work as a professional in public health to provide proper care as well as advocate on behalf of my patients so they are not ignored.
