About Me

Hello! My name is Fatoumata Sylla and I'm excited to embark on this tutoring journey with you! I have years of experience tutoring and absolutely love working with students. A bit about me,Im a first year medical student at a top 20 medical school in the United States. I also went to a women's college in PA where I majored in religion and neuroscience. As for my tutoring background, it's quite extensive. I worked as a quantitative tutor, a writing tutor, and a French tutor while in undergrad. Although I no longer tutor math, I do love to work with students who want to improve their writing or conversational French. In the past, I've worked with students ranging from 13-55 y/o! I like to work with each student to establish a personalized learning plan. I know no two students are the same so this approach allows us to customize my teaching to the students learning style while also maximizing our time together. In addition to tutoring French and anything writing & literature related, I also tutor MCAT biology and MCAT CARS. I am a 1x MCAT taker and I scored a 130 and 131 in these subjects respectively. I am also happy and willing to work with students on the following:- Grad school personal statements- medical school secondaries- Medical school interviewsAs for my teaching style, I love to collaborate with my students and I rarely do the standard lecture style. I'm very activities based and will try to bring my own activities ( in addition to using the material provided by the student) whenever possible. I look forward to working with you to achieve all of your educational goals!
