My first and second degree was in Computer Science (B.Sc. and M.Sc.), then I moved on to do my Ph.D. in Instructional Design and Technology. Because I have a passion for teaching and learning and I know that people have distinct learning styles. My joining Varsity Tutor as an instructor is to support the work of the organization in helping student grow in knowledge, career and academically. And to make sure that courses and subjects are up and running. As technology always change and being in the technology environment and industry for long, my aim will be to teach students and lecture skills and theories and apply theory to practice preparing them for being education tech leaders. I would bring my knowledge of instructional theory and model by using ADDIE model and other relevant models like Backward Design/Understanding by Design (UbD), Design Thinking Model, Fink's Significant Learning Model, ARCS model based on the appropriate design of the courses. I am proficient with various learning and course management systems e.g., Blackboard, Moodle, Canvas, aTutor, Open edx, WebWork, Google Classroom, OpenLearning, eCollege, GlobalScholar and lot more. It will be my honor to bring the knowledge I have acquired to teach at Varsity Tutors. My excellent written and oral communication skills, that includes the ability to effectively convey technical information to non-technical colleagues and clients would also be beneficial to the students of Varsity Tutors. My critical thinking skills and the ability to prioritize and manage multiple simultaneously deadlines would be an added value to the students of Varsity Tutors. As an Information Technology Director for several years, this would be an added value to Varsity Tutors students as I would bring my knowledge of technology skills to the organization when teaching students.
