About Me

I graduated from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign with a bachelor's in Integrative Biology, Chemistry and Philosophy. Currently, I am a PhD student in the Molecular, Cellular and Developmental Biology (MCDB) program at the University of Illinois at Chicago. In addition, I have scored in the 97th percentile on my ACT/SAT and have scored in the 90th percentile on the MCAT.My love and passion for teaching stems from my 5+ years of experience as a undergraduate TA (Teaching Assistant) at UIUC and as a graduate student TA at UIC teaching Organic Chemistry, Chemistry, Cell Biology and Biology. My areas of expertise are all courses under Biology and Chemistry, including prepping students for the MCAT. I have had a lot of academic success in those areas personally, throughout my educational experience and I continue to do so as a graduate student. So, my understanding and mastery of Biology, Biochemistry and Chemistry is very strong. I practice many adaptive teaching methods, such as presenting relevant models or examples, facilitating an open discussion to allow the students to explain the concepts back to me and conducting routine assessments with mini-quizzes and exams to help the students gain a deeper understanding of each concept. These teaching methods have helped me and all of my previous students, ranging from elementary to high school, to succeed in their coursework! I look forward to working with you!
