I had plans to study for a M.A in Belgium but decided to stay close to home due to COVID and my family pushed me to consider formal teaching after doing it informally for so many years and I am so grateful they did push me into it. I fell in love with education during my BEd and received the Maxwell A. Cameron Memorial Award for Education students promoting global change through teaching. During my practicum in White Rock, B.C, I taught Philosophy 12 and Social Studies 10. After graduating I moved to Somaliland, a small unrecognised country in the north of Somalia to teach at a teachers training college for women. I led the Exceptional Education department which focused on teaching future teachers how to support students with exceptional needs. Following this, I moved to Bahrain in the Middle East to teach Grade 4 at a Canadian International School.
