I graduated from the University of Pittsburgh in 2011 majoring in Biomedical Engineering and Mechanical Engineering and minoring in Chemistry. I worked for several years as a product engineer in industry and now am applying to go to medical school. While a college student, I was a campus tour guide, undergraduate researcher, violinist in orchestra, and I tutored both high school and college students for the Pitt Engineering Career Access Program. The tutoring program was designed to support students focused on graduating with a degree in science, technology, engineering, or math. My favorite subjects to tutor are anything in the math and science fields. I firmly believe that with the right approach and a bit of practice, anyone can grasp these topics. I treat solving math problems more like solving a puzzle, one piece at a time. Since I am passionate about the importance of math and science, I enjoy making them more relatable to a student by explaining their real world applications whenever possible.One of my favorite activities is distance running. My dissertation was titled, Sustainable Attitudes Amongst Management Staff at ABC University.During my undergraduate schooling, I majored in Art and was a member of the NCAA Womens soccer team. My junior year I spent the summer abroad in England and studied International Communications at Oxford University.My education also includes a Master Degree in Mass Communications from San Jose State University, and a post doctoral certificate in plant based nutrition from Cornell University. I am a certified TEFL professor and teach ESL from ages four to adult. In addition, I have taught at the high school and elementary level. I have been told by both students and supervisors that I am able to make abstract concepts fun and understandable. I am the proud mother to a seven year old boy named Jesse. During medical school I tutored and prepared students for the United States Medical License examinations. I prepared and delivered daily lectures for the internal medicine students and increased the pass rate from 65% to 90%.
