As an EMT with 24 years of experience in the field of EMS and 15 years of experience as an Emergency Medical Services Instructor, I am able to bring both practical and academic sides to our experience together. Additionally, I have a Master's Degree in National Security and a Bachelor's Degree in Criminal Justice and Forensic Science.

I am currently working as a licensed Paramedic for Indianapolis in a 911 setting. I am a preceptor for EMT and Paramedic students as well as an Field Training Officer. I currently assist in writing scenarios as well as testing for scenarios to gain CAPCE hours. I am working with organizations to plan and execute workshops, classes, and hands-on based learning for EMS conferences.
I am excited to help potential students in any subject matter they need! I pride myself on creating a positive atmosphere that will allow the student to best learn the material they need assistance in. Everyone learns best in different ways and I look forward to providing that for all of my students!
I am a current paramedic and EMS instructor at a community college. I have over ten years experience working in primarily rural EMS systems in the U.S. Midwest and over a year working in the ER of a community access hospital. I have a passion for teaching and helping students understand complex subjects. Seeing students succeed is my driving force.
Having studied mathematics at The University of Texas and being a Paramedic most of my adult life, I'm very knowledgeable and passionate about both Math and Emergency Medical Sciences. By helping others to gain a better and deeper understanding of the topics I am interested in, I hope to help people achieve success and develop their own appreciation for and love for learning about these topics.
I bring a rare, real-world perspective to tutoring that blends finance, real estate, and first-responder training. My background spans mortgage lending, real estate transactions, compliance, and high-pressure decision-making in public safety. I have spent years breaking down complex topics like loan structures, contracts, regulations, and emergency protocols into clear, practical lessons that actually stick. As a tutor, I focus on how things work in the real world, not just how they appear on an exam. I am currently licensed in all my tutoring disciplines. Whether I am helping students understand the concepts, I teach with clarity, structure, and purpose. My experience working with clients, regulators, and first responders allows me to explain material in a calm, confident way that builds understanding and confidence. If you want a tutor who connects the dots between theory, testing, and real-life application, you will find my approach practical, disciplined, and results-driven.

I obtained my initial EMT certification in the 80's while volunteering for a local fire department and ambulance service. In the late 90's I had obtained my national certification as well as state licensure. I have worked in rural settings, as well ad dense urban. During the Iraq conflict I went to Iraq as a contract Paramedic for the Army for a year. When I returned from the deployment, I went into remote medicine and worked for over 10 years in the offshore as well as international locations. I have maintained my Paramedic licensure and also have my Critical Care Emergency Transport Paramedic, instructor for American Heart Association in Basic Life Support, Advanced Cardiac Life Support, Pediatric Advanced Life Support as well as various types of workers safety training. While I worked in the EMS field full time, I also taught Paramedic courses and was a course director and have proctored for national and state exams. I also have a degree in Occupational Health and Safety.
Working in the field of Emergency Medical Services (EMS) is my passion. I began pursuing my EMT certification in 1995 and have since advanced to the paramedic level. Throughout my career, I have held various roles, including EMT, Advanced EMT, Paramedic, Training Officer, and Deputy Chief. Currently, I serve as a full-time instructor in EMS, focusing on both continuing education and curriculum development. I have been tutoring students in EMS since the beginning of my career and have been an instructor for EMS programs for approximately 20 years. I hold a Bachelor's degree in Homeland Security and Emergency Management and recently earned a Master's degree in Public Administration from East Carolina University in 2022. Tutoring is an essential tool I use to support individuals interested in the EMS field. I am dedicated to advancing the profession of EMS and find it a great honor to help others achieve their EMT or higher-level certifications. In my spare time, I enjoy playing golf and traveling as much as possible.
Ever hear of "Jack of all trades, master of none?" I resonate with that statement very much. My educational background is diverse and colorful, but is not all centered around college. Along with a college degree, I also obtained many different types of certifications. My passions lie within the medical fields, especially emergency medicine. I am a graduate of Virginia Highlands Community College with an Associates of Applied Science-Paramedic degree. My medical and emergency services background actually started 23 years ago when I became an EMT and firefighter. Throughout the years, I have attended a vast number and variety of trainings for emergency medical services, fire sciences, and law enforcement. I also graduated from the local criminal justice academy in 2007. In addition to emergency services, I have also received education for communications, psychology, and public relations. In addition to EMS and law, I was a substitute teacher and Instructional Aide for the public school system in my area. I thoroughly enjoyed working with the middle and high school students. I was also able to educate and train EMT students for several years and would love to continue in the future. I really love evolving education. The emergency services fields are constantly changing, which means I will always be able to learn something new. I hope to bestow a lot of my knowledge and training upon others. I feel as though I can help many students with a variety of different subjects ranging from phonics to emergency pre-hospital medicine.
I enjoy teaching and helping students develop and passion to be successful in their field of study. I believe that a good teacher is priceless and can play a huge role in the making or breaking of students.
I enjoy teaching and helping students. I try my hardest to find ways for students to understand things in any way they can. I use rhymes, sayings and sometimes a song or two to help the information stick.

I work with students whose ability is often underestimated by traditional systems. I have tutored at the college level, supporting both students and faculty, and have guided thousands of learners from grade 9 through college. I specialize in helping students who feel lost, overwhelmed, or written off regain clarity and control in demanding subjects like AP English and AP History. Academic improvement, including strong course grades and successful AP outcomes, follows when understanding finally clicks. My approach is patient, precise, and individualized. I teach in ways that respect how each student actually thinks and learns, building confidence, comprehension, and independence alongside performance. I hold a Master's degree in Human Communication, a BA in English with concentrations in Professional Writing, Rhetoric, and Literacy, a minor in U.S. History, and four associate degrees. My focus is not pressure, but mastery that lasts.
